Let's Talk About Vacuums!

I'm slightly obsessed with vacuum cleaners, as you would expect. We have used the Riccar Supralight commercial vacuum with HEPA bags year after year here at Kidwell's Kleaning for the last 20-30 years. The one thing we have started to notice, though, is that they can smell badly if we are vacuuming homes with pets well before the bags are actually full, especially in the humid weather. So it seems we may be transferring bad smells into homes that we are cleaning—YIKES!

I got to thinking a lot about this, and our customers have been thinking about it as well. We have started to see an increase in customers wanting us to use their own vacuums. I think that is a pretty great idea, actually. It helps keep cross-contamination at bay. Being someone who has 2 large dogs and a cat, I vacuum daily and noticed my vacuum was pretty smelly as well with my bagged vacuum cleaner, so I was ready to try something new.

For this reason, I purchased a bagless vacuum with a HEPA filter on it so I could empty the dirt cup after each time I vacuum. I absolutely LOVE this vacuum! I'm not sure if I love it so much because I can actually see all of the debris I vacuumed up (making me feel extremely productive ) or because I can empty it after each use, therefore it never has a chance to smell bad!

Now I cannot say how long it will last since I just purchased it, but I do know that as of this moment, it is my new favorite vacuum cleaner.

If you would like us to use your own vacuum cleaner, just contact the office and let us know!

That is just my 2 cents on this fun subject of vacuum cleaners. We hope you are enjoying your spring!
